Google adds a small-business hub to the Gemini app, with finance charts and links to Xero and Shopify

AI IntegrationAI Implementation

On October 20, Google added a business landing page to the Gemini app, which it describes as a central hub for small business owners. According to Google's announcement, it includes:

  • On-brand visuals. Owners can upload their website, brand kit, fonts or color palettes, and Gemini "retains this visual style" for later images.
  • Financial insights. Gemini can "turn messy spreadsheets, receipts, and purchase records into clear financial graphics and interactive models."
  • Connected apps. Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Google Workspace, plus Adobe, Canva, Dropbox, Shopify, Wix, Zoho and Xero.

Google says the hub, new marketing and finance skills, and connected apps are "beginning to roll out in the coming days globally for all Gemini app users."

The post doesn't say how business data is stored or used, what permissions connected apps receive, or how accurate the financial outputs are.

What it means for an SMB

  • Test on a copy first. Use a spreadsheet with no customer names or bank details.
  • Connect one app at a time. Before linking Xero, Shopify or Google Ads, check what access each connection asks for.
  • Check every number. Compare charts against your accounting system before you share them with anyone.
  • Start small. Our Earned Autonomy guide shows how to let a tool take on more only as it proves accurate.
